Day 01: Flight to New Delhi

 

On arrival in India you will be greeted and escorted by Travel Q Shop staff to your hotel. Check in time 1200 hrs noontime. Upon arrival at Hotel check in & overnight stay.

 

Day 02: New Delhi/Old Delhi sightseeing

After breakfast visit Red Fort* – the 17th century imposing fortress, the Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque), India’s largest mosque where more than 20,000 people can kneel in prayer and Raj Ghat -Mahatma Gandhi’s Memorial. In the afternoon visit New Delhi. You will drive past President’s Palace and India Gate (42m high), built to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in the 1st world war. Later visit Humayun’s Tomb, and the Qutub Minar, the highest sands stone minaret in the world (73 meters) Lastly visit to Delhi Haat: It is a small ethnic India in the midst of greater India. India is such a diverse country in terms of culture, race and crafts. The real India is never available in a platter, at one place. Delhi Haat is an attempt to showcase India at one stage. And it did quite well. Known for good, affordable food, there are food stores representing almost every states of India. Apart from that- Indian textiles, hand looms, knick-knacks, handicraft works etc are displayed in all its glory. Later dinner at one of the famous Indian restaurant. Time to retire for the day.

Day 03: Delhi – Agra (By Surface 205 kms /5 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Agra. On the way you get to see the authentic routine village life. Little before Agra we stop at Sikandra to see the mausoleum of great Mughal King Akbar (1556-1605).

 

On arrival check in at the hotel. Later in the evening visit Taj Mahal (1631-1653), a poem in white marble, built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal. Also enjoy Tonga ride. Overnight at the hotel.

 

* Taj mahal remains closed on Friday.

 

Day 04: Agra-Ranthambore (250 kms/6 hrs) –Ranthambore National park is closed from 1st July to 30th September.

After breakfast visit Agra Fort (Fort and Palace) situated on the West Bank of the river Jamuna.

 

Later drive to Ranthambore National Park en route covering Fatehpur Sikri.  It is a beautiful and deserted medieval city built by Akbar the Great in the 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire. The Mughals later abandoned this city for lack of water.

 

On arrival at Ranthambore welcome refreshing drink with snacks. In the evening bon fire (only in winter) with live cultural dance & music. Dinner and overnight at hotel/resort.

 

Day 05: Ranthambore-Jaipur (145 kms)

Early after tea/coffee with biscuits embark onto jungle safari. Return hotel by 10 Am breakfast & leisure time. After lunch leave for Jaipur.

On arrival hotel check in. In the evening visit to Chokhidhani-an Ethnic Village Resort– located at a distance 15 km from Jaipur. Evenings at Chokhi Dhani are very special. A Rajasthani village atmosphere is recreated on the sprawling ground and includes the entertainment by folk dancers and musicians. The guests can move around freely and enjoy the evening. After traditional Rajasthani Dinner drive back to Hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 06: Jaipur

After breakfast, half-day AM: excursion trip takes you to Amer Fort with Elephant ride.- Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace.Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it’s ultimate expression.

 

Continue sight-seeing& return to Jaipur & complete the sightseeing of “Pink City” (Jaipur). You will visit City Palace- A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum. Royal Observatory (Janter Manter-1728-34)- This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.

 

Later by pass Hawa Mahal. Or “Palace on Winds”. Dinner in a nice local restaurant with dances will be organized for the guests. Overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 07: Jaipur – Delhi (By Surface 258 Kms / 6 hrs)

After breakfast drive back to Delhi. On arrival in New Delhi transfer straight to International airport to connect flight back home.

North India Cultural Tour

Day 01: Welcome New  Delhi

On arrival at New Delhi Airport you will be received by our representative and with his assistance you will be escorted to your pre-booked hotel for smooth check.

New Delhi, the capital and the third largest city of India is truly a fusion of the ancient and the modern located at the West End of Gangetic Plain, the capital city is reach in ancient and medieval cultural heritage. There are two important parts of Delhi –Old and New Delhi. The Old Delhi was founded as Shahjahanabad by Mughal Emperor in 1639 and remained the capital of Mughal Dynasty till the end.

The New Delhi was recently built and the Capital of India was transferred from Kolkata to New Delhi in 1911. Old Delhi, takes you through the labyrinthine streets passing through formidable mosques, monuments and forts. The imperial city of New Delhi displays the finely curved architecture of British Raj.

 

Day 02: New Delhi

After sumptuous breakfast embark on for sightseeing tours of Old & New Delhi. Visit to Qutab Minar-the tallest free standing minaret. Humayun Tomb –the oldest Tomb, Raj Ghat-The beautiful cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi continue your journey and visit to Red Fort-MONDAY CLOSED- this huge Fort is the 17th cen fort complex and the fort was the palace for Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s new capital, Shahjahanabad, the seventh city in the Delhi site. Built by Red Sand stone this imposing fort is 3 Kms in perimeter with the height of the wall varying from 18 to 30 meters at places then close to it is Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India.

 

The sightseeing of British Raj includes drive past Janpath, Rashtrapati Bhawan (Hindi for presidential palace) and India Gate is perhaps one of the most impressive structures built in the capital of India. This historic monument was built as a memorial to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers killed in the First World War. In the evening visit to Delhi Haat-The DILLI HAAT provides the ambience of a traditional Rural Haat or village market, but one suited for more contemporary needs. Here one sees a synthesis of crafts, food and cultural activity. This Food and Craft Bazar is a treasure house of Indian culture, handicrafts and ethnic cuisine, A unique bazaar, in the heart of the city, it displays the richness of Indian culture on a permanent basis. Step inside the complex for an altogether delightful experience by either buying inimitable ethnic wares, savouring the delicacies of different states or by simply relaxing in the evening with the entire family. Overnight will be at hotel.

 

Day 03: New Delhi – Jaipur (265 kms)

After breakfast drive to Jaipur the capital city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is the cultural and Heritage richest state and was established by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1693-1743) and painted pink by Maharaja Man Singh II when Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, visited Jaipur in 1876. Upon arrival Hotel check in. Later you will be driven to Market for shopping. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 04: Jaipur

After breakfast proceed to Amber Fort for excursion tour located at 11 kms from City Centre. Amber Fort is situated on the crest of a hill seven miles north of Jaipur is Amber, capital of the Kuchwaha Rajputs from 1037 to 1728. Man Singh I built it in a style to rival Mughal grandeur and opulence. Later return to the hotel & continue with the sightseeing of City Palace, a combination of conventional Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. City Palace complex has more than a few palatial structures. City Palace is a huge complex, which houses many courtyards, gardens and buildings. Jantar Mantar, built between 1716. It is located within the city palace. Jantar Mantar contains a collection of instruments for observing the movements of sun, moon, planets and stars. It was built to develop the interest of the people in Astronomy.  En route brief stop at the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal). Hawa Mahal is a sample of the perfection of the architecture. Hawa Mahal was built with the pink & red sandstone, beautifully carved and outlined with white border and motif. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 05: Jaipur – Agra (245 kms)

After breakfast drive to Agra. This Mughal city offers you the opportunity to explore the Mughal Architecture at its pinnacle there are massive monuments, majestic buildings, and the popular arts and crafts. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the mausoleums.

On the way close to Agra visit Fatehpur Sikri – now a Ghost city was initially envisaged by Emperor Akbar but was later abandoned due to water scarcity. Reach Agra check in hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06: Agra

In the early morning after breakfast visit Taj Mahal (Taj Mahal remains closed on Friday), a poem in white marble, built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal. Later visit to Agra Fort; built by Emperor Akbar on the west bank of the river Yamuna and beautified with palaces and gardens by Jehangir, Agra Fort today dominates the centre of the city. The crescent-shaped fort with its 20-metre high, 2.4-km outer walls contains a maze of buildings that form a small city within a city. Also visit to Sikandra Fort-the Mausoleum of Emperor Akbar and Itmad –Ud-Dhaullah.

Day 07: Agra – Khajuraho (En route visit to Orchha)-175 kms

After breakfast transfer to Agra Railway station to board the train to Jhansi. Upon arrival meet and greet by our representative. Drive to Khajuraho en route visit to Orchha-The very word “Orchha” means “hidden” and, verily, the small town of Orchha in Madhya Pradesh (India) stands for it. It is a hiddenarchaeological legacy of medieval India, it is a hidden ‘throb’ of romance and emotional rupture, it is a hidden face of history, a hidden treasure of spiritual tranquility, a hidden poetry written on stones! Hidden. Continue your journey to reach Khajuraho. Situated in the heart of India, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho is a fascinating village with a quaint, rural ambience and a rich cultural heritage, honoured by the world as India’s unique contribution to human civilization. The Chandela dynasty built eighty-five temples here. Twenty remain as embodiments of Indian architectural and sculptural art at its most evolved state. Even ten centuries after they were constructed, the temples of Khajuraho reflect an eternal philosophy relevant to all mankind. The temples of Khajuraho are a world heritage site and belong not just to India but to the world. Khajuraho is one of the few millennium destinations of the world.

 

On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 08: Khajuraho

After breakfast proceed  for a full day tour of the Exotic Eastern and Western group of Khajuraho. The temples are superb examples of Indo-Aryan architecture and depict images of gods and goddesses, warriors and musicians, real and mythological animals and in great detail – women and sex.

 

PM – proceed to the Shilpa Gram for seeing the local artisans at work. You can also see the colorful Dances show. Overnight will be at hotel.

 

Day 09: Khajuraho – Varanasi (Flight)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Airport for flight to Varanasi.  Upon arrival at Varanasi, you will be met and transferred to hotel.

 

Varanasi is the World’s most ancient living city. Sunrise on the riverfront, as seen from a boat, can be spiritually uplifting sight. Crowded with temples, and its labyrinth of streets, the city attracts the maximum number of tourists. The religious capital of Hinduism, Varanasi is the carpet manufacturing place of India. It was previously known as Kashi – the city that illuminates. The present name is derived from the fact that the city is at the confluence of the rivers Varuna and Asi.

 

Upon arrival at the hotel. Later after some rest proceed for Evening Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedha Ghat. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Varanasi

In the morning drive to Daswamedh Ghat and take a boat ride on the sacred river Ganges to see the cremation Ghats and witness the living traditions of one of the world’s oldest and most important religions. (To start at 0500 hrs. for the best lifetime experience). We will transfer you to the banks of the River Ganges before the sun rises. Board a boat with your guide and proceed to the middle of the river, where at sunrise the sight unfolds before you. Return for a walk through the cobblestone streets along the banks of “Ganga”. As shops are opening, the place now becomes a beehive of activity as the faithful are coming and going. Return to hotel for a sumptuous breakfast. Proceed for a guided tour of Varanasi in the afternoon including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Gyanvapi Mosque, Benaras Hindu University and other important monuments. Later visit to Sarnath Temple-10 kms away from the Hotel. One of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world, where Buddha preached his first Sermon in 590 BC. Witness the ruins of a once flourishing Buddhist monastery and then visit a fine Museum which houses an excellent collection of Buddhist art and sculptures found at the site. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 11: Varanasi – New Delhi

Post breakfast and transfer to the Airport for flight to Delhi. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel check in and free time for shopping. Later you will be transferred to the International Airport for flight back home.
